Hope Comes from God

Hope never disappoints, because hope comes from God, and hope is in God. Sadly, many have been disappointed by false hope, which is always in anyone and everything but God. Worse than that, some people blame their false hopes on God. They simply don't understand true hope in God.

Hope comes from God as a gift. That gift comes to our hearts through the Spirit of God. The gift of hope always focuses upon God and His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a gift for all of God's children. To be born of the Spirit through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ is to receive true hope in God.

True hope never comes to you alone. Hope always comes with two constant companions, faith and love. They never come for a visit; they come to remain. They abide with you. "And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13). Hope comes from God to abide in you.

Faith always works with hope. "Now faith is the evidence of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). Faith and hope are always focused on love, because "God is love" (1 John 4:8). That's the reason true hope never disappoints. Hope comes from God with faith.

Faith can trust God now. True hope is able to trust God with the future. True hope never frets about the future, knowing that God is love. "Love never fails" (1 Corinthians 13:8). Faith and hope have absolute confidence in the things of God, because love "believes all things, hopes all things" (1 Corinthians 13:7). Hope comes from the love of God.
