Who You Shall Be

Life is always changing, and so are you. That means you are becoming who you shall be. You're not there yet. God is still working on you, as a believer in Jesus Christ. God knows who you shall be, but you are not there now. Every believer is becoming more and more like Jesus, but we have a long way to go. "For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to be like his Son" (Romans 8:29, NLT). As far as God is concerned, you are a work in progress. Be patient as God continues to work on you.

You are becoming who you shall be in Christ. You're not there yet, so don't be too hard on yourself. From time to time, you may stumble and fall. We all do, but your Father in heaven will not forsake you. God will help you up, with His strong arms of love. Every child has to learn to walk. That includes you. Be patient with yourself, because your Father is always patient.

Be patient with other believers, when they stumble and fall. God is still working on them too. "Gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path" (Galatians 6:1, NLT). Judging other believers doesn't help. When a child stumbles and falls, scolding does not really help. Love lifted you, when nothing else could help. Lift up the fallen. Be like your Father in heaven.

You are becoming who you shall be in Christ. You will one day be changed into the very likeness of Jesus. "We shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is" (1 John 3:2). That's the work of God in your life. Until that day, He is still working on you. Be patient with yourself and others, because we are a work in progress.
