When Faith Comes

No one comes to God without faith. Faith sees Him who is invisible to the eyes of man. Faith prays and receives from God. Faith enables man to walk with God in daily fellowship. No one can please God without faith. "But without faith it is impossible to please Him" (Hebrews 11:6).

Someone may say, "I try to have faith, but doubt hinders me." Doubt is a call to beware of the subject of faith. Some people try to have faith in their faith. Faith can never be self-centered. Faith must be focused upon the only one who can give faith. "Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2).

Faith comes only through Jesus Christ as a gift of the Holy Spirit. Trying to have faith any other way simply will not work. A man came to Jesus seeking help, but he had trouble believing. He said, "Lord, I believe; help my unbelief" (Mark 9:24). Jesus still helps people with doubt and unbelief. Let us look unto Jesus for our faith.

Faith that pleases God comes to you by grace alone. Grace is God's gift in Christ. Grace gives you all the faith you will ever need. Look not to yourself, nor to any other, but the Lord Himself. Grace brings faith from the source of all faith. What God expects from you, Jesus Christ provides for you. That's when faith comes.
