In God's Courtroom

In God's courtroom you only hear one of two verdicts. One is condemned, the other one is justified. Those who believe not the gospel of Christ are condemned. Those who have faith in Christ are justified. There is no other verdict to be heard.

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 5:1). Peace with God comes through Christ alone. All who have faith in Jesus our Lord are justified. Only Jesus died for our sins. Only Jesus was raised from the dead to give us eternal life. Only Jesus can give us peace with God.

All who have faith in Christ are justified. That is a legal term. In the courtroom it means to be declared innocent. As sinners, we can never claim to be innocent outside of Christ. By trusting Jesus Christ, our sins are removed through His death at the cross. Much more than that, we receive the righteousness of God in Christ. His righteousness is put on our account by faith in Christ.

Only in Christ can guilty sinners be justified and made righteous before God. At the cross, Jesus suffered death for our sins that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). Therefore, we have peace with God through faith in Christ.
