"And they took note that these men had been with Jesus."
Acts 4:13
The two women had worked in the same office together for years. One woman said, "I've been around you for years, but lately something is different in your life. Whatever it is, I know something good has happened to you. I've noticed that you seem to be at peace all the time. What's going on with you?" Her friend said, "I'm surprised you've noticed. There has been a change. A few weeks ago, I committed my life to Jesus Christ, and I have more peace than I've ever had. He has made all the difference in my life."
Jesus called ordinary men to be His disciples and become His apostles. He made a real difference in their lives. Others noticed the difference. It is written that "they took note that these men had been with Jesus." After the resurrection and ascension of our Lord Jesus, the Spirit of Christ came to live in these men. Even though they were ordinary people, the Spirit of Christ worked in them to do extraordinary things. They lived and preached with a new found boldness. Even those who were not believers in Jesus took note of the change in their lives.
Life with Jesus makes a change in our lives. He brings love, joy and peace. He gives us faith for today and hope for the future. The light of His presence shines through us to bring faith and hope, along with peace and joy to others. Most of all, He enables us to carry His love to those who have never received. Don't be surprised if someone notices a difference in your life. That's life with Jesus.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, continue to change our lives day by day, that we may be conformed to Your likeness.
