The Seasons of Your Life

"While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat, winter and summer,
And day and night shall not cease."

Genesis 8:22

God has made seasons for our lives. We lived in Indiana while I was a student at seminary in Louisville, KY. One winter we had several feet of snow. A friend said, "I'm taking a picture of the snow. I'll put it on the wall in July to remind me of how the heat of summer will not last." He made a good point. Often, when we are in one season of life, we are wishing to be in another season. Enjoy the blessings of God in the season you are in now. Remember, it will change.

Don't try to live in the past. You can't go back. Don't think only about the future. Enjoy the season that you are in now. God has special blessings for you in every season of life. Learn the lessons of life in each season. Adapt to changes in your life. Wishing for the way that it used to be will not change your present season. Every season of life brings new challenges with new advantages.

In every season of life, God reveals to us more about Himself. He shows us His glory from season to season. Most of all, when the seasons change, God does not. He is the one constant, faithful friend in all the seasons of our lives. Learn to enjoy Him. He wants you to enjoy Him forever.

Prayer: Father, You have planned the seasons of our lives. Show us new opportunities and blessings through each new season through Christ our Lord. Amen.
