Two college students were talking about the Christian faith. One said, "I don't see how any intelligent person could believe in life after death." The other one answered, "I don't have any trouble believing in life after death. Why should I think it strange that the one who gave me life can do it again?"
The promise of Jesus Christ to all who believe is everlasting life. It is the promise of the one who is the Resurrection. God is eternal. His life is shared with us through His Son, proven at an empty tomb. Eternal life is fellowship or communion with God and His Son forever.
Faith receives the gift of eternal life. Take Christ at His word. He either spoke the truth or lied. He either has the power to give you eternal life or He doesn't. He is either the Resurrection and the life or a false prophet. The line between faith and unbelief is clearly drawn.
A skeptical old man said to a young Christian, "If God was going to give us life after death, why doesn't He prove it?" The young man said, "He has, three days after Jesus died. The question is, will you believe Him?" That's the question for all of us. Your next life is the promise of Jesus Christ, proven at an empty tomb.
Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life,
He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live."
John 11:25
