When you make bad choices, take responsibility to correct them. First, confess your faults to God and He will forgive you. Next, ask forgiveness of others. Also, find people who will help you, support you, and pray with you. Accept responsibility. It's the first step to making a real change in your life.
Don't think, "It's not my fault. I'm not responsible. It's my spouse's fault, my parent's fault, my employer's fault, or even God's fault, but it could never be my fault." No one else can take responsibility for your choices.
When you are overtaken in a fault, take responsibility and correct it. Confessing your faults, correcting your wrongdoing, and receiving God's grace will change your life. Blaming everyone else for your faults is simply an excuse not to change your life.
Accept responsibility for your life. Be accountable for your choices. Those choices have consequences. Think how a choice will effect your and others. If you think that choices have no consequences, then you are deceiving yourself.
"Do not be deceived. God is not mocked,
for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."
Galatians 6:7
"For each one shall bear his own load."
Galatians 6:5
