As a believer in Jesus Christ, God has gifts for you. They are spiritual gifts. That means they work in you through the Holy Spirit. Inside of you is found every spiritual gift that you will need to live the Christian life. "Now you have every spiritual gift you need" (1 Corinthians 1:7, NLT).
God's gifts remain in you. They are abiding gifts. Every Christian enjoys these three gifts. "There are three things that will endure - faith, hope, and love - and the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13, NLT). These are given by God through the Holy Spirit to all of His children. Those who experience the new birth, born of the Spirit, have these three gifts.
The greatest gift of all for you is God's gift of love. God's love is unmerited and unconditional. It comes by faith in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit working in your heart. "He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love" (Romans 5:5, NLT). God gives himself to you, because "God is love" (1 John 4:8).
Love never comes to you alone. Faith and hope are always together with love. Faith enables you to receive the love of God in Christ. Hope assures you that nothing can separate you from the love of God. "Nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:39).
