Your Light Has Come

Every person has hidden things in darkness, that they don't want revealed. The Bible confirms it. "For all have sinned" (Romans 3:23). Those things may be hidden from others, but not God. He knows all and sees all. He knows the hidden darkness of every person's life.

God knows that man is helpless to overcome the darkness of his life. What man cannot do, God has done for him in Christ. Jesus, the light of the world, shines in the hearts of those who believe in Him. The light conquers the darkness every time. Light has power over all the darkness. Light shines through the cross of Jesus. "God destroyed sin's control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins" (Romans 8:3, NLT).

Your heart opened to God is open to the light. The power of darkness has to surrender. Greater than all darkness is the power of light. Sin's control is broken. The victory of light is sure. Darkness loses its power over you. The chains of darkness are broken. Jesus said, "I have come as light into the world" (John 12:46).

When you sin as a believer, you open your life to darkness. Yet, that darkness cannot have dominion over you, when you confess your sins to God. Darkness can only survive when it is hidden from the light. Confession refuses to hide the darkness of sin. Immediately upon confession, the light shines. Darkness is defeated by the light every time. Your light has come. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
