To Receive Faith

Do you wrestle with doubts? Is it hard for you to believe? Give up your struggle. Look to God's word. Admit your inability. Ask for God's grace to believe. When the faith of God enlightens your heart, the darkness of doubt and unbelief is dismissed. The gift of faith comes through the word of God. "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17).

Understand the nature of genuine faith. It is a gift from God. Faith is one of the abiding gifts of the Holy Spirit. "And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13). Notice that faith comes not without hope and love. The Spirit of God always gives these three gifts together, and they always abide in those born of the Spirit.

To receive faith look not to yourself nor anyone else, but look to Jesus. He gives all the faith you will ever need. Look to Jesus through the teaching of the word of God in your Bible. So then faith comes. If you need more faith, seek not greater faith. Seek the One who gives faith, greater faith, and manifesting faith. "Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2).

It does no good to pretend that you have faith. Genuine faith is a gift of God's grace. And, where do we receive such faith? It comes from the word of God through the Son of God, as a gift of the Spirit of God. That's the faith you need.
