The Journey of Your Life

"As for God, His way is perfect.
The word of the LORD is proven.
He is a shield to all who trust in Him."

Psalm 18:30

The man and his wife were preparing to take a vacation. They were packed and ready, but they had yet to map their way to drive on a long trip. As they looked at the map together, he suggested one way and she suggested another way. They were in doubt. Then they decided to call some friends who had already made the trip. They discovered a better way. The way was safer, shorter, and more scenic. They had talked to a couple who knew the way, the best way to go.

God's way for our lives is revealed clearly in the Bible. It's like a road map, showing us the best way to travel this journey called life. Certainly, we have choices in life. We may go the wrong way. We may even be lost and not know it. However, God's way is perfect.

The way is a person. Jesus said, "I am the way" (John 14:6). Jesus is the good Shepherd who desires to lead us in God's perfect way. Sheep must have a shepherd. They are always prone to go astray with no real sense of direction. Sheep may follow the shepherd with confidence that he alone knows the right way. Simply stated, without Jesus as our Shepherd we are lost in life and in death.

Have you lost your way in any area of your life? It's easy to become frustrated and discouraged, fearful and confused. Look at the road map of life, your Bible. Call for the Shepherd's guidance. He's available for all who believe. He knows the perfect way, because He is the way. He is God's way for you.

Father, lead us in the way through Christ.
