Worship is designed for you to give yourself to God. Worship is not what you get from God. It is what you give to God, yourself. He wants more than your offering, songs and prayers. He wants you. Simply stated, worship is giving yourself to God.
When you give yourself to God in worship, then you hold back nothing. All you are and ever hope to be is to God's glory alone. Then, you sing and pray to bring glory to His name. You give to support His work in this world. You present your body to Him as a living sacrifice. Worship is your statement, "I am His. He is mine forever!"

The selfish worshiper says, "I quit going to church. I just don't get much out of it. The songs are not my style. The sermons aren't relevant. The people aren't very friendly. I'm just so busy doing other things." The true worshiper says, "I worship to give myself to God."
When we become self-centered, there is no joy in worship. When we become God-centered, the joy returns. It's the joy of giving yourself to God.
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that you present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable to God,
which is your reasonable service."
Romans 12:1
