How to Seek God

"There is none who seeks after God" (Romans 3:11). Only when the Spirit of grace begins to work in your life do you seek after God. He initiates your relationship with Him. You seek Him because He first sought you. When you sincerely seek God, therefore, be assured you shall find Him. For this reason Jesus said, "He who seeks finds" (Matthew 7:8).

Those who respond to God's grace seek Him by faith. "He who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6). Only by faith can you truly find God. Faith is the assurance. It is the evidence that you know God. Faith is trust and confidence in the living God.

Faith is the evidence that God has done a work of grace in your heart. The ability to truly trust God through His Son Jesus Christ is an evident work of the Holy Spirit within you. Faith is an abiding gift of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 13:13). Give God the glory that He is working in you.

Faith is not based upon what your eyes can see. Faith is based upon what the grace of God has done in your heart. "For we walk by faith, not by sight" (2 Corinthians 5:7). Your faith will be tried and tested in this life. Nevertheless, you will stand the test, because God is at work in you. You sought God by faith. Your heart is enabled to trust Him through all things. When you seek God, faith alone can find Him.
