When You Need Comfort

Life can be hard. You may become weary. The pain of suffering and the pressure of life may become too much. Sorrow can drain your strength. Where can you find comfort and strength? God has comfort for you in the darkest night and the deepest valley.

How does God's comfort come to you? His comfort is made real through the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God is often referred to as the Comforter. His comfort penetrates your heart. He brings peace to your mind, contentment to your will, and joy to your emotions. His comfort is heartfelt.

God often comforts you through other people. The apostle Paul testified, "Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus" (2 Corinthians 7:6). God had Titus in the right place at the right time. Titus was the messenger of God's comfort. The Holy Spirit comforted Paul, and He did it through Titus.

When you need comfort, trust God to bring consolation. He will. He is the God who comforts you. If you ask for His comfort, you will not be disappointed. Comfort may come through a Bible verse, a song, or a spoken word, but it always comes from God.
